PC and his father Ian Ferreira farms Mieliefontein and New Holme as a unity. There's an active Abattoir on Mieliefontein and they slaughter up to 300 sheep per day. They farm with Merino and Dormer sheep. The Dormer sheep produces twins and triplets and are highly fertile.
PC has transformed his farm into a beautiful guest farm and he and his wife kindly receive guests from around the world. The guest farm on New Holme is popular for the delicious Karoo lamb served there in the Seekoei River restaurant; one can also enjoy a glass of red wine on the roof while watching the clear starry sky. Guests can go for a wildlife tour and see the hippos in Seekoei River. The venue also serves as a wedding reception.
He likes the tourism industry and would like to register his farm as a private game reserve in the future. Tourism keeps the young farmers in the Karoo and they can open up a whole new world for others to see.
The house on New Holme was built in 1933. "Holme" means island and fertile soil. It's a piece of land that is surrounded by water from four sides.
PC farms efficiently by reserving his fields and prevents overgrazing. He believes a man should be prosperous by diversifying and adding value to your farm. His father farms in the traditional way and PC believe it’s important to apply modern methods in the farming industry and therefore he and his father get along very well and produce a very good free range healthy Karoo lamb.
